About Art & Soul

Leslie Weinberg, owner of Art & Soul, has always had a love of nature. Leslie found a way of incorporating that love into artistic expression through her ties. The ties are more than an accessory; each one is an individual, unique work of art. They not only show the marvels surrounding us, but also show the fragility - and sometimes even the whimsy - inherent in the living and inanimate.

The ties of Art & Soul have been featured in gift catalogues, boutiques, various retail stores, craft shows and internet based businesses. Art & Soul accepts custom orders for corporations and groups. We do custom work for some of the largest tie manufacturers in the US.

Art & Soul has made a name for itself through its unique, attention-getting ties. Clients have reported that people have stopped them on the street to ask them where they purchased their tie. This is not only a compliment to the wearer of the tie, but to Art & Soul as well.

Each Art & Soul tie is custom-made

Each Art & Soul tie is custom-made in San Francisco from the finest imported 19.5mm charmeuse and lined in black silk. The design is hand-drawn using the serti method, which involves using resist. The resist not only draws the outline but keeps the paints from flowing from one part of the design to the other. The background is done by hand and salted for interesting water-color effects. Each tie is then heat-set to give a final smoothing to set the colors in and to make them dry-cleanable. All ties come with hang-tags with instructions for cleaning. They are shipped in plastic sleeves to keep them clean during shipment. There is no air-brushing or tie-dying involved; each tie is hand-painted by brush.

Thank you for visiting Art & Soul online. Be sure to come back often, especially before each holiday to see our latest holiday creations. Enjoy visiting our gallery.
